Aim to raise funds for the disaster relief in the Philippines; a flock of pop music icon superstars have donated their songs to show of solidarity with Philippines’ super typhoon Haiyan.
The movement is likened in the Live Aid in 1985 held in London and Philadelphia where famine hit Ethiopia and Africa, in which musicians in that time jointly recorded “We are the World”.
Songs from The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Beyonce, U2 and Bruno Mars are among the 39 donated to “Songs for the Philippines,” available to purchase in iTunes and for streaming on iTunes Radio.
The artists together with the record companies have agreed to donate the proceedings to the Philippine Red Cross so it can easily bring the aid they need due to struggling relief operations in remote areas.
